Salvia divinorum use, experiences and other info.
Welcome to salvia.net, a site dedicated to a plant variously named Salvia divinorum, Ska Pastora, Diviner's Mint, Sally-D and Lady Salvia. Though its psychoactive properties have been known to the Mexican Mazatec Indians for ages, it was relatively recent that the plant drew the attention of Western ethnobotanists, and even more recent (the early 90's) that its active component, salvinorin A, was isolated. Salvinorin A turned out to be the strongest natural hallucinogen known to man.
In recent years salvia has become increasingly popular amongst explorers of nonordinary states of consciousness. Because salvia enjoyed a legal status for years, researchers had the opportunity to study the mechanisms of its effects and possible therapeutic applications.

This website keeps you up to date on current research being conducted and its legal status around the world. Salvia.net also informs you about salvia's history, its chemistry, how to grow the plant yourself, how to use it safely and effectively, and invites you to share your personal experiences with this extraordinary hallucinogen.
The effects of salvia are overwhelming, especially when smoked. Because of this, one must carefully prepare oneself for the experience and have at least a general idea of what to expect. We invite you to browse this site before embarking on your salvia journey and hope it helps your first experience to be pleasant and meaningful.

25 juli 2008 California bans sale of Salvia to minors
No longer will children be permitted to buy a hallucinogenic drug that has been readily available in California. Legislation to ban the sale of Salvia divinorum to minors was signed Tuesday by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. Violators can be charged with a misdemeanor when the new law takes effect Jan. 1. Assemblyman Anthony Adams, R-Hesperia, predicted that his Assembly Bill 259 will save lives and "prevent irreparable havoc on families and society." "Whenever we can keep a dangerous hallucinogenic drug out of the hands of our children, we're doing something right," he said in a written statement.

August 26, 2008 The second time I was born
"I took a huge hit and he informed me to hold it in as long as I possibly could, so I did. Given the tin-foil nature of this it became nearly impossible to hold it past about 20 seconds because of the horrible taste, but that proved to be enough. I looked at him for maybe about 3-5 seconds with a look that said I wasn't feeling anything, then the most peculiar event in my life (up until that point) took place. The air between my arms all the sudden took shape, not a visual shape, but a mass of energy similar to a invisible ball of gravity that sat down right on my throat and chest. I looked at him and said with obvious astonishment "WTF? I was pointing at my chest to show him what was happening but he just looked at me and smiled it's working huh? "
