Hello, i would like to introduce DJ Rikam profile, a dj from Neurobiotic and Tech Safari productions in Montreal, Canada!

Rikam (aka Erik Amyot) has been ambassador of the Canadian psy trance scene since 1995 and DJ since around 1998. He was foundator of eXpérience productions in 1995, member of Electro Organic Mutant federation (E.O.M.F.) until 1999 and he is foundator of Tech Safari in 2002, he first encountered techno, acid house and acid trance music in the early 90 and started collecting his first vinyls. He discovered his first goa psy trance party in Montreal around 1995 with the party called Emergence with DJ Mini Mono (today DJ Neerav from Interchill records),Adityo from Goa Chill and Bansi (now the half of GMS) from TIP records.

After this party, Érik is very impressed by the demo mix produced by Bansi and DJ Mini Mono (DJ Neerav). Rikam buyed his first goa trance vinyls on TIP, Flying rhino, Perfecto, Symbiosis records and POF. Following his passion for this new music and new energy and his desire to share it, the first psy trance parties and techno party emerged in Trois-Rivières (Quebec) in 1995. With his collectif eXpérience productions, Rikam produced the firts goa trance partys in Trois-Rivières with his friend DJ Zab (aka Electro Organic mutant) from Alien Project. After leaving Trois-Rivières for Montreal, as a promoter, in 1997 he transformed the city with some massive goa trance partys with his collective eXperience productions, and some collaborations with the french artist DJ Nivoc from Ascend records. Rikam produced techno and trance events ranging from 1000 to 3500 people and enabled Montrealers to discover artists such as: Tony Puglia, Sid Shanti, Tsuyoshi Suzuki, Andre from TIP, Bansi, Goa Gill, Akira from Japan (Solstice music), India Drop (Purple Oz), Mat BOOM! and many others... 1999 was a turning point for Erik with his DJ career, as the promoter also became a renowned and appreciated DJ in the Canadian arena, playing since 2000 at many significant gatherings and partys like Shambhala festival (British Columbia), Arrival festival (Quebec), Natura (Quebec), Om festival (Ontario), Harvest festival (Ontario), Music of the spheres (Morocco), Omni dance festival (USA), Alladin party (New York city), Orb festival (USA) and he played with Infected Mushroom at the famous Aria Night club in Montreal! In 2003, with the Tech Safari collective ( DJ Tenzin, DJ Mat Thc, DJ Yann and VJ Cafrine), he organized the first international outdoor psytrance festival in Canada: Eclipse Summer Trance Festival. Only 1 year after, Rikam with DJ Yann and VJ Cafrine created with his Tech Safari collective the news partys called AMAZONE in differents locations in Montreal city... Rikam is now one of the key elements in the development of the emerging psytrance culture in North America and especially in Canada, as a DJ and instigator. He has played alongside renowned artists such as: Hallucinogen, Infected Mushroom, Deedrah, Astrix, Transwave, Talamasca, Astral Projection, Absolum, Wizzy Noise, Ticon, Dino Psaras, X-Dream, Protoculture, Pixel, Koxbox, Tegma, The Delta, Spirallianz, OTT, James Monro, Menog, Son Kite, Joti Sidhu, Wrecked Machines, Jaia, Sirius Isness, Mael/Nomad, CPU and Nuclear Ramjet. Just recently, after a set by DJ Edoardo at Tech Safari legendary monthly Amazone gatherings in Montreal, Rikam subsequently became the North American representative for the Italian label: Neurobiotic Records who is represented by DJ Edoardo, Marcello VOR, Joti Sidhu, Zen Mechanics, Silicon Sound, Altom, Polaris, Panick, PTX, DJ Psychotrop and many more. Erik can mix night and day as his powerfull sets offer a mixture of intelligent psychedelics sounds with very groovy bassline and progressive rythm, ranging from 138 to 146 BPMs. He also has a particular interest for progressif electro, progressif psychedelic trance and progressive house ranging 125 to 135 Bpms...
