Chakra is Rami Shapira. Rami started to work with alternative electronic music when he was 13 years old. He had a band with two friends (Frank Malinder, Avi Ligi) called Synthesized Regime making electronic body music. They use to take part in the electronic music events in the legendary Tel-Aviv underground alternative club, The Penguin. Then he gradually moved to Acid House at 1988 and a bit into European trance. He started to make psychedelic music and released a few tracks with Itzik Levy (Sandman, Resistance Activity, Psycho-toons) as Witchcraft. Their first track was Magic Frequencies that immediately left its mark on the Psychedelic trance scene. Then came Whale and the legendary Eastern Rain. At the year 97 they released the track Witchcraft magic that was originally made at the year 1993. After Witchcraft project Rami released two tracks on his own: Chakra Spider and Chakra hallucinator. Those tracks were released on a several compilations in Israel, Germany, France and U.K. Then, at 1996, Rami teamed up with Edi Mis to release one of the best trance CD?s ever- The Promised Land that featured classics tracks that still remain in the hearts of the people: The legendary X-File with Edi Mis, the legendary Liquid Troll, Brain in the Box, Hell Razor Puzzle and Final Mission that was also made with Edi. These tracks also appeared in numerous compilations around the world. The X File was remixed by several House and Trance artist including Visitors and Quirk from the Trance scene and Aramin and John the dentist from the House Techno scene. In addition Rami also did a remix to Prana?s Taiyo and released two other tracks in collaboration with other Israeli artists: Chakra & Avi- Insignificant Form of Life, Chakra & Nada- Intensive Psychedelic Care. After his album The Promised Land was released, he toured around the world for more than a year playing at festivals in Europe, Japan and The USA. He spent a long time in Japan working on some projects, and now after a year?s break he?s back with his own label- Optimus Records. He released a new 12vinyl / CD single, Resurrection, with two new tracks featuring Liquid Metal Resurrection and Search for God. And now, Resurrection the CD { compiled and mixed by Chakra } , will bring you more new tracks by Chakra.
