S.T.E.P party April 24, 99

Guest Act: Xenomorph(U.K)

We had a great time at the party ( S.T.E.P.) we organised on the 24th of April at Crypton club, Thessaloniki. Of course, it was very tiring as we had to take care of many things and late Friday night we got a telephone from D.I.M.O. from Germany saying that he could not come because his father was taken into emergency care (heart attack). Anyway, we found a quick replacement with a local DJ. Besides arranging everything for the party e.g. DJs, equipment, club decoration, posters and flyers we also had to make arrangements for the sound and also act as personnel at the club..... As decoration we had some excellent hand-made banners and various fluoro decorative stuff as well as a video projector, situated above the DJ, that was playing a great Psy-harmonics video. There were about 320 people at the club and it was spacy enough to dance and not to empty either. The only positive thing about me and my friends being at the club's entrance, ticket area and bar was that people felt more comfortable talking with us rather than people employed by clubs who sometimes are rude and not very "understanding".

The party started at two o'clock with DJ Ilias playing a storming 2,5 hours set and swept everyone away. It was a great opening and an unusual one since most times the crowd expects to start dancing after the party has well taken off. At about 4:30 Xenomorph started playing from two DATs and a Nordlead so it was a semi-live performance (many would call it a live act but anyway..). Those that were not completely aware of the music that Mark Petrick makes were quite surprised but everyone reacted positevely and the whole place was going up and down.....even the club owner seemed to enjoy the music....Xenomorph played a great epic set including known but also unreleased stuff. At about 6:30 DJ Adonis came in and played his full-on progressive psychedelic set till 9 o'clock with the crowd begging for more.

Overall the party had a nice atmosphere, people were in a good mood, there were no problems with the police or any fights/drug problems in or around the club. After the party with relief I found out that at least we broke even as we had many expenses...the club, the decoration, the sound system, rental of equipment, DJs and travel and many other small expenses. Following a chill out for a few hours about 10-15 friends of mine together with Xenomorph we went to the mountains of Halkidiki, in the nature where real parties take place....
