Nam Shub of Enki - "Fuck Piece"

Demon Tea Logo

Long awaited album by crazy man Nam Shub of Enki isfinally out and whatan album this is. In true Enki style, it is a blend ofindustrial beats, techno riffs monstrous basslines. The new century findsPhil Thomson in good shape and this album reflects this. Good vibe, on thefloor beatz and that weird bad girl naughty feeling. Opener “I LoveU Pussy”, apart from 2-step beats and pitched effects, has somethingelse to offer. It’s a statement about the most talked thing in thewhole world, we all love them, one way… or behind way ;-)

Next follows “Cubeb” a more on the floor piece of fuck that in usual Enki style delivers the goods big time.Great beats, great riffs and that sharp edged production. Sounds like a wining formula to me. “2000 Duddy Long Legs” continues the saga of naughty metaphors and sexy beats as the jazz vibe comes into the mix. One of the best pieces around lad.

Do my ears and eyes deceive me or this the funkiest ever track, “Noizzzeee Kunts” wins the best pussy award just for being noisy enough to mess with our “heads” big time.“Shot Green” is up next being a more hard, drill and bass track. 2-step beats though weird effects, a cat like riff and bad ass attitude prove once more what a good producer this man is.

Next is “Rolf” and the old school elements are more obvious than ever, a riff that could damage pretty badly some hardcore floors back in1992, drives a track that moves into psychedelic borders at times, quitedangerously actually. Crazy producer crazy track…

Follower “Last 4 Tha Dust” is one of the highlights in this album, being mutually cerebral goes straight into your mind and messes with some of the neurons in good dance matter. Artificial percussion lines and freeform sequencing, a truly original and interesting kind of track. “I Lieck Cattle Farming” moves into more experimental waters with a smart use of vocal samples arranged in a rhythmically way. More over the cartoon like style helps the overall atmosphere of the track and enforces the overallquality of this cut.

“Millbrook Lentil Institute” uses again 2-step rhythms and overdriven noises to create a ruder atmosphere. Cool cut with the bassline driving the tune and the rhythms keeping the groove locked. Halfway though, a tranceriff brings the psychedelic elements back into the mix and the track endsup in Odd Harmonic kinda style. Last track “Metamorphosis of the SixthCreation” opens up with what sounds like a typical Hallucinogen introto me (remember Gamma Goblins part two) and gradually moves into experimentalambient waters. A laid back track which is mission probably is to ease yourmind from the brutal beat attack of the previous efforts. Manages well thoughto bring you into a more relaxed state than the others tracks but the darkmoments are still there… So this is not a cheesy ambient end tune.

My final comment on this long player is that it is a great buy. Maybe itsounds old school at times but it does this in style and doesn’t borethe listener. The overall feeling is good and some tracks will not feel likefish out of the water in a dancefloor. I liked it and I am glad that DemonTea invests in Australian artists again after the latest Finnish attacks. If you are into breaks and weird psychedelic tunes invest with no fear, ofcourse funs of the Enki should have already bought this.
