jul 21 - the chaishop starts a new forum for the psychedelic trance community
For more than a year now chaishop's main intention is to bring the worldwide trance community closer together. This has been done by offering lots of info about everything related to trance.
This was not very interactive.
What was missing was real time communication. The chance that people communicate with each other. An easy way to become active and exchange ideas.
Technical problems hindered us to enable such communication: Java-Chat isn't working well, IRC (Internet Relay Chat) is too complicated for a lot of users. A mailinglist is too stressy for people who don't want to download 50 mails a day just from the list. And a www-board is too expensive for others since you have to be online all the time that you're reading and writing.
We now found a solution which I didn't find anywhere else in the net. We merged an eMail-mailinglist to a www-based forum (www-board). We programmed a bridge that transfers every mail written in the mailinglist to the www-board and vice versa.
The advantage is that by this we can create a large audience since it's not nessessary to be subscribed and receive all the mails written. Users can browse online to read just the mail that is of interest to them. On the other hand you still can subscribe - when you're getting more active - to read and write mails offline. Of course there are also some disadvantages, but isn't this the case with everything which has advantages?!
We want chaishop's international trance forum to be a place for active trance artists, organisers and partyfreaks...

Der Chaishop war mit seinem Stand nicht auf dem Lovefield und nicht auf der Nation. Das hat Wetter und Technik-Gründe. Auf dem Lovefield ist uns schon ein Rechner fratze gegangen und bei der Feuchtigkeit der letzten Wochen wurde uns das zu teuer. Auf jeden Fall werden wir aber auf Voov, Shiva Moon und Boom in Portugal sein. more info.

Rays of light to the worldwide psychedelic community!
For us (Markus, Cynthia, Mat and me) the psychedelic chaishop got a very time consuming job. Well, not exactly a job, 'cause a job gets payed. We're now facing the problem that there are more and more things that can be done but less and less time beneath the standard work to do them. The result: Great ideas to make the chaishop a better base for communication amongst the worldwide trance community can't be realized!
SO WE SEEK FOR YOUR HELP!
We need people who want to be part of the chaishop crew to gather info, install this in the chaishop, work out ideas, etc...
This is work but also fun. You'll get to know a lot of people and will get a lot of positive feedback. If you love trance you'll love it. This is our energy source for one year now!
In detail we're thinking about giving the different area in the chaishop (i.e. 'god of dancing', 'prophets of shiva', etc.) to different 'areamasters'. Every areamaster should push his area by gathering thrilling international articles (and putting them online), organising events or even applying special features like discussion forums, chat or similar.
Also welcome would be a perl programmer to programm these and other special features.
If this could be something for you or for a friend of yours, then please mail me.
Note that you do not need html or other programming knowledge although this would help.

Auf unserem Weg zur weltweiten virtuellen Trance Community sind wir ein heftiges Stück nach vorne gehüpft. PLUR ist DAS Magazin für Trance in China / Taiwan. PLUR ist der Hammer! Als ich das Magazin das erste Mal in der Hand gehalten habe, konnte ich's selbst nicht glauben: 60 Seiten A4 heftigste Themen (Interviews, Berichte, Fotos, Musik-Reviews), alles in Farbe, überzeugendes Design und dennoch Trance. Der Chaishop hat macht jetzt mit PLUR gemeinsame Sache. So bringen wir zumindest schon mal Asien und Europa zusammen. Zum Anfang gibt's für Euch Artikel aus dem aktuellen PLUR #1: Astral Projection Interview, Dogma Diary und Rainbow 2000 Review und Fotos. Verpaßt das nicht! (Übrigens: Ihr könnt PLUR online kaufen!)

Vor ein paar Tagen haben wir die Beta Version unseres neuen online Trance Plattenladens in's Netz gestellt. Dort gibt es momentan über 150 spacige Trance CD's! Wir möchten jedem die Möglichkeit geben - gleich wo er wohnt - an aktuellen Trance zu kommen. Dabei haben wir versucht die Preise gering zu halten - auch wenn das nicht einfach ist als Newcomer im Plattenbusiness.

Ich weiß, es ist etwas spät... dennoch hoffe ich ihr hattet ein fetten Sprung in '98. Meiner erschlug mich wie ein Steinblock und so war ich in den letzten Wochen erschlagen mit Krankheit und Arbeit.
