Nach der vielbeachteten 12“ „Symbiont“, deren Titelstück zu einem wahren Sommerhit avanciert ist, legen Sphere auf Insolation nun ihr herbeigesehntes Debütalbum vor, mit dem das Trio sich anschickt, die Grenzen des Psy Trance-Genres zu sprengen. Bereits mit dem Release der Maxi hat sich abgezeichnet, dass Linus Wessel (ehemals Mitglied des Erfolgsduos Tarsis) und die beiden Akanoid-Masterminds Hilton Theissen und Uwe Lübbers mehr als „nur“ ein normales Trance-Projekt betreiben, sondern dass hier eine richtige Band zusammengewachsen ist. Alle drei blicken nämlich auf eine vielschichtige musikalische Vergangenheit zurück und verbinden auf „Rotation“ nun die unterschiedlichen Einflüsse zu einem stimmigen, spannenden und einmaligen Gesamtbild. So finden sich hier sowohl reinrassige Trance-Tracks, die in der Schnittmenge zwischen progressivem Rhythmus, hypnotischem Groove und warmer Harmonie gedeihen („Symbiont“, „Angela’s Anger“, „Volt“, „Quiet Island“...), als auch Stücke, die mit Trip Hop- („Still“), Electro- („New Beginning“), Downbeat- („Rotation“) oder Techno-Elementen in der Tradition von Underworld („Outside“ und „Walkin’ On Air-Rmx“) kokettieren. Den gelegentlichen Song-Charakter der Titel verstärkt zudem der Umstand, dass es sich bei der Hälfte der Stücke um Vocal-Tracks handelt, wobei hier neben Hilton auch Thomas Elbern (von Escape With Romeo) und Darrin Huss (von Psyche) als Gastsänger zum Mikro gegriffen haben. Mit so viel Klang- und Ideenreichtum werden Sphere das Ohr und auch das Herz jedes Liebhabers elektronischer Musik mit Sicherheit für sich gewinnen..

Following the much-noted 12“ “Symbiont“ and its title song that has become a real sommer hit, Sphere presents now their long-awaited debut album on Insolation by which the trio is about to break the bounds of the Psy Trance genre. The release of the maxi single already has shown that Linus Wessel (former member of the successful duo Tarsis) and the two masterminds of Akanoid Hilton Theissen and Uwe Lübbers run more than “only” a normal Trance project, but a band that has really grown together. They all look back onto a complex musical background and now combine the different influences to a harmonious, very exciting and nearly unique overall picture named “Rotation”. There are true Trance tracks prospering in the intersection of progressive rhythm, hypnotic groove and warm harmony (“Symbiont“, “Angela’s Anger“, “Volt“, “Quiet Island“ ...) as well as tracks coquetting with elements of Trip Hop (“Still”), Electro (“New Beginning“), Downbeat (“Rotation“) or Techno in the tradition of Underworld (“Outside“ and “Walkin’ On Air-Rmx“). The occasional sound character of the tracks is intensified by the fact that half of the songs are vocal tracks whereat besides Hilton Thomas Elbern (Escape With Romeo) and Darrin Huss (Psyche) participated as guest singers as well. Due to this abundance of sounds and ideas Sphere should get the ear and also the heart of each fan of electronic dance music.
