| Burning Man where does this name come from? A large wooden statue is being burnt the last festival weekend. But maybe not this is the most important thing of the event far away from civilization. It is about community. You can feel it wherever you go. It is everybody that makes some kind of contribution to Burning Man, we are all transformed into artists and performers, if with our costume or art installation or not. The amount of openess for others, this interactivity and creativity is mindblowing and here we do have one of the indescribable things that are experienceable only when on site. | You have to put in quite some logistical efforts
to visit Burning Man especially if you depart from Europe. Its
worth just every mile... If you made it and the long trip lies behind you,
arriving in the desert with your cooling boxes, ice, food, your crazy ideas
and outfit a world opens up that many lateron describe as more
real than the normal world. Well, you arrived at the planets
largest gathering of freaks, creative and crazy people. Any commercial world stays behind, more than you would think. Except coffee, tea and ice available in the festivals Center Cafe there is no money in town. People even re-label almost everything and transform the branding of their rental cars. Californias way of thinking freedom can be felt. |
