In the expanse of the Australian outdoor festival culture, the Cairns Winter Solstice Celebration & Sustainable Lifestyle Gathering holds a special place in the hearts and minds of people from all around the world. The annual event, in its fourth year in 2009, was one of the regionÂ’s biggest and most creative festivals, attracting well over a hundred and fifty acts, performers, healers and artists over four days and three nights in the rugged beauty of the Atherton Tablelands.
The thing about Winter Solstice is that itÂ’s much more than a Far North Queensland event, it is now recognised as one of AustraliaÂ’s premier alternative lifestyle festivals with a strong focus on entertainment for all ages & a holistic festival experience.
Winter Solstice has a solid reputation for presenting a broad range of musical styles, from electronic music to live bands and solo acts, as well as roving performers, fire shows, kids space, healing areas, sustainability exhibitions, market &food stalls, outdoor cinema, live painting, workshops & plenty of family activities... Winter Solstice is the deserved winner of Best Festival in the Cairns Post timeOUT Awards 2009.

Take either Kennedy Hwy or the Gillies Hwy to Atherton and follow signs to Ravenshoe. From Ravenshoe continue to Innot Hot Springs, then thru to Mt Garnet. Continue on the Kennedy Hwy for exactly 30km's and look for turnoff on your left...Folow signs to checkpoint...

Take the Rex Range to Mt Molloy, continue thru Mareeba, Atherton, and onto Ravenshoe. From Ravenshoe continue to Innot Hot Springs, then thru to Mt Garnet. Continue on the Kennedy Hwy for exactly 30km's and look for turnoff on your left...Folow signs to checkpoint...
