...nearly everyone told the organizers that they were mad. 'A house party during the day? It will be a flop.'At the very first edition, however, it became clear that the idea was a stroke of genius. Now, for just one day each year, Spaarnwoude recreation area changes into a dance paradise... Dance Valley.

Dance Valley brings the many different sub cultures in Dutch nightlife together in harmony, which has earned it the nickname 'the Woodstock of Dance'. Even though the festival has grown into one of the largest outdoor dance events in the world at lightning speed, it has always managed to keep its intimate atmosphere.

'My year's not complete without Dance Valley'. Carl Cox once remarked about this festival just a stone's throw from Amsterdam. Many have tried to imitate Dance Valley but it is still unique and unequalled. Or as Ian Hindmarsh, Carl Cox's booking agent once said, 'Anyone who is passionate about dance music will be aware of Dance Valley, no matter where they live'.
